Ed Rylander, MD

I am originally from Ohio, came to Tulsa for my under- and post-graduate training at Oral Roberts University, and was one of the original physicians who started the In His Image Family Medicine Residency (class of 1988).  My wife Shelley and I were happily married in 1981, and we have two children and five grandchildren.

In addition to family medicine, I am also board certified in hospice and palliative medicine, having continuously practiced both since graduating residency. I am the founding Medical Director for Transitions LifeCare Hospice in Tulsa and serve on several community boards and hospital committees. My special areas of interest in teaching medicine are evidence-based medicine, palliative medicine, and the interface between pharmacology and clinical medicine. These are the areas I enjoy teaching to young physicians as well as helping them get a good start in a great profession.
