Erin Liening, MD

I was born in Louisiana but grew up overseas as a missionary kid. My family lived in China and served as medical missionaries and teachers for decades. On return to the US, I went to LSU undergrad and LSU Shreveport Medical School. There I followed my passion for pediatrics and completed a year as a pediatric resident at Arkansas Children’s Hospital. However, God’s lifelong calling to medical missions led me to transfer to In His Image to become a broadly trained family medicine physician. I graduated from IHI Class of 2015 and have been practicing full spectrum family medicine as faculty since.

God’s calling for medical missions and ministry continues to take many forms. I have been blessed to travel to many countries on short-term missions, support long-term missionaries, serve local immigrant populations, and minister to all who come through our doors. Teaching, mentoring, and supporting future physicians to do the same is a great honor as IHI Faculty where I serve as the Pediatric Director. My special interests are pediatrics, women’s health & OB, clinic procedures, and refugee care. My husband’s name is Jared, and he was a Washington State Park Ranger prior to God bringing us together. We love all things outdoors, travel, and game nights. We also love supporting Tulsa music and restaurants. I am a die-hard LSU fan for life!
