Chris Jenkins, MD

I was born in New Hampshire and moved around the Northeastern US plus a two-year stint in Michigan as my dad pursued his surgical training. We moved to Tulsa when I was seven and I’ve called Oklahoma home ever since. I graduated from the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine and then from IHI residency in 1997. I followed that with a one-year fellowship in travel medicine, also at IHI, and then stayed on as a faculty member.

I enjoy reading, working out at the gym, and going for walks while meditating on Scripture. One of my greatest joys is taking colleagues overseas on medical education mission trips several times a year to help IHI graduates and others who are doing long-term medical education missions. I enjoy keeping my patients well and getting to know them as friends. As a faculty member, I like teaching residents and being a mentor because I can see them grow professionally and personally.
