Matt Acker, MD

I grew up in central PA where I loved the outdoors, fishing, hunting, wrestling, and football. I went to Wheaton College, IL, where I met my wonderful bride, Laura. Medical School was completed at Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia and then we came to Tulsa for the In His Image Family Medicine Residency. We then were called to Central Asia where we served the next 11 years, starting a network physician training program to train local family medicine doctors in faith and medicine. We returned to Tulsa in 2011 where I am on faculty at In His Image and direct the In His Image International Sending Agency, preparing and supporting our long-term medical partners around the world.

Laura and I have four children, three of whom are married, one grandchild on the way, and two well-loved dogs. We live in North Tulsa and serve at Crossover Bible Church and on the board of Crossover Health Services. We love to host family and friends, to play pickle ball, and to travel. I still love fishing, hiking, walks with the dogs, and most any outdoor activity.  I love to see God bringing more freedom, joy, and love to His people and seeing His Kingdom spread through our physicians to people around the world, especially in medically and spiritually needy places!
